I’m always hesitant to try new brands when it comes to perfumes because they are pricey and the colours, variety and names are a little overwhelming. I’d much rather pick up something a bit different that you’re not going to smell on every other lady as you walk down the street. A few years back I was a big fan of sickly sweet perfumes but as I’ve gotten older I’ve been searching for something a bit more sophisticated and grown up – especially in autumn.
I came across Miller Harris through work I thought the artwork on their bottles was gorgeous and the scents looked original and fresh. The company was founded by Lyn Harris in 2000 after training at world famous Grasse in Robertet – the focus is always on high quality natural ingredients. In addition to a pretty rad girl boss at the helm of the company it’s the ethos and focus on natural ingredients and top quality unique scents that interest me most about Miller Harris.
This is not a light, girly fragrance this is described as fit for the courageous and mischievous – blending the freshness of the bergamot with the smokiness of the black pepper and spice of the cardamom. This is a scent that could be worn by men or women and could be layered up with softer more floral scents for a more daytime scent.
For me this is the ideal winter scent – it’s musky but fresh, strong but not harsh and has amazing staying power. From this perfume I think you can smell Lyn Millers Parisienne training – this is the ultimate ‘french girl’ fragrance.
