As I’ve mentioned before I love instagram for the inspiration however it does set some pretty unrealistic expectations. Every week I see one of my favourite bloggers with a new designer handbag and the reality is… for us ‘normies’ it’s totally unrealistic. Hands up who owns a Gucci Dionysus? *crickets fill the silence* How about a Chanel bag? *crickets start up again* How about a bag under £50? Now we are talking… I can see some hands up finally!
Metal Handle Bag | Loafers | Leather Jacket | Scarf | Cos Trousers (old)
As I’ve mentioned a few times I neither have the capacity in my tiny London flat or the bank balance to be particularly ‘on trend’ so I prefer to update smaller items when a new season comes around. This season it became clear that metal handle bags were going to be a key season piece.
Even those bloggers with numerous designer bags were picking up Zara, Mango and Forever 21 numbers in this style. I knew that a metal handle bag would be a cheap and easy way to update my wardrobe – with the added benefit that it could be worn with anything. I did a bit of research and the most affordable bag in the style that I liked (and wasn’t sold out) was this one from Forever 21. The quality isn’t great but not surprising for under £30, it’s not a bad size it fits in all the essential minus my DSLR & the handles are good and sturdy.
I would say that Zara and Mango are always a great place to start but I actually ended up paying £18 for this Forever 21 number because I signed up to the newsletter for a discount and got £5 off my purchase.
