Mango is everywhere at the moment. There are people left, right and centre saying that Mango is the new Zara and in my opinion… they’re not wrong. Mango is killing it this season there are amazing pieces everywhere particularly strong is their shoe game and their velvet game. I’ve spent the last year on the look out for an amazing velvet blazer and they’ve just come flooding into Mango for their Autumn/ Winter 16 collection. These are categorically the best velvet pieces on Mango at the moment and half of them haven’t even made it into stores in the UK yet.
These are my top Velvet picks from Mango for AW16:
- The Burgundy Velvet Jacket
This is the perfect way to inject a bit of colour into the autumnal wardrobe in a way that can transition from day to night seamlessly.
- Dropped waist, flared sleeve velvet dress
This is a gorgeous take on the 70’s trend with the frill and flare
- Nude Velvet Slip Dress
This would be perfect over a classic white t-shirt, with black chelsea boots
- Textured Burgundy Culottes
Moving away from the image of the juicy couture velvet trousers (which apparently are trying to make a desperate come-back) and into the trend-conscious way to wear velvet on the lower half of your body
- Halter Neck Top
This could be paired with high waisted mom jeans, a skirt or leather look trousers to add texture
- Straight Leg Velvet Trousers
These are a great alternative to cigarette trousers and patterned trousers which were big last year and made a simple monochrome outfit more interesting
- Belted Velvet Jacket
The hero piece from the AW16 collection. It’s beautiful, the cut is incredible – just yes. Buy direct from Mango or from Amazon.
- Velvet Trousers – Loose fit
These are the perfect two piece. The top is an oversized t-shirt shape giving a really relaxed loungewear vibe
- Tasseled Velvet Bag
The bag game in Mango this season has been out of this world – this number is no exception
