Zara is THE place to go this season if you want embroidered shirts, jeans, jackets… just about anything. During New York fashion week Olivia Palermo was spied in a gorgeous, loose fit blue embroidered shirt. When half the world realised that it was a Zara number it was fisticuffs and clothes hangers in the Zara’s across the globe. Luckily my local Zara in Westfield Shepherds Bush seems to always have great stock. Last time I visited I picked up this beautiful embroidered shirt.

I took it home and stared at it for a while before realising… I’m not Oliva Palermo. I know SHUT THE FRONT DOOR – the similarities are uncanny but alas we are not related. I literally sat on the floor sulking because I remembered that I’m not a size 6 instagram honey with a tanned bod and distressed denim hot pants. What the bloody hell should I wear it with? After much deliberation, furious Pinterest surfing and a floordrobe later I was defeated so I pulled on my favourite jeans (MiH Phoebe Jeans).

Huzzah. The simplest solution is almost always the best. It was comfy, it was casual in that ‘yeah I didn’t try – I woke up and threw on clothes’, I teamed it with my trusty Topshop Kendall loafers, rolled up my jeans and grabbed a sleeveless blazer. Sleeveless blazers are the ultimate summer to autumn transitional piece and are perfect for adding relaxed tailoring to an outfit.

If you have seen the Zara AW16 embroidered selection you should hurry on down whilst they are still in stock. Last time I was in store the Zara embroidered shirts were nearly all sold out but I’m sure there will be some amazing embroidered shirts cropping up on ASOS in the coming months.
